Ideal for: Dehydration, Dull skin, Pigmentation, Early ageing
Lactic Acid Peel (30%, pH 2.8)
Topic: Lactic Acid Chemical Peel
Concentration: 30% pH Level: 2.8
Lactic acid peels are superficial alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) treatments designed to gently exfoliate the skin, improve hydration, and promote a brighter, more even complexion.
The Lactic Acid Peel (30%, pH 2.8) is a gentle yet effective working acid peel designed to target pigmentation, blemishes, dullness, and uneven skin tone while delivering deep hydration and a brighter, more radiant complexion. This lower pH resurfacing treatment helps refine skin texture with minimal irritation, making it ideal for achieving smoother, healthier-looking skin with light post-peel flaking.
WHAT IS LACTIC ACID?
- Derived from milk (an AHA)
- Larger molecule compared to glycolic acid -> slower penetration
- Gentler and more hydrating
- Naturally occurring in the skin's metabolic processes
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Active skin infections or open wounds
- Severe rosacea or eczema
- Recent use of isotretinoin (within 6-12 months)
- Allergies to AHAs
- Sunburned or compromised skin barrier
- Pregnancy (consult protocols/policies)
How it Works
- Breaks down desmosomes (bonds between dead skin cells)
- Promotes controlled exfoliation
- Stimulates cell turnover
- Enhances moisture retention (humectant properties)
What to Expect:
During the Treatment: You may experience temporary redness, mild tingling, or slight sensitivity during the peel treatment as the active acids work to exfoliate and renew the skin.
After the Treatment: Expect a brighter, more radiant complexion with improved skin texture and hydration. Mild dryness, peeling, or light flaking may occur post treatment, although this is not always visible, making it an excellent pre-event glow peel.
